Coaches Info - Raffle

Rookie, Pee Wee & B League will again sell raffle tickets this year.   This is one of the biggest fundraisers for the baseball program and we need your full support for this to be successful!

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION OVER CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS :

Once you have received your tickets, it is very important that you get these tickets to your players as soon as possible so all the players have an equal chance and time to sell.   We realize that you are very busy and therefore suggest that you find a parent or parents of your team to assist you with this project.   Please stress how important the raffle ticket sales are to the Little League program in helping buy equipment, uniforms, and paying umpires.

1.        Each coach is responsible for all of the tickets that are assigned to their team.   You may get additional tickets when needed.   For more tickets contact Dale Ossowski 469-4409, email ossowskid@yahoo.com or utilize the hasting baseball website under the raffle tab and click request additional tickets.

2.        Please use the sheet provided to list each team member’s name and their assigned ticket numbers.   It is mandatory that each player sell 30 tickets.   If players request additional tickets, list their name again on the provided checkout sheet along with the new ticket numbers.   The players will have until Monday June 8 to sell the mandatory 30 tickets.   At that time you must collect their original 30 ticket stubs and money and turn them in to Dale by June 12 at assigned drop-off locations.   If a player has not sold his 30 tickets by the cut-off date they will not be allowed to play until tickets are turned in.   Coaches, if you receive all mandatory tickets and money before cut-off date, please turn them in.

3.        In order for the players to receive proper credit for the number of tickets sold, they must have their first and last name filled in as the seller.   Also, encourage parents to fill out ticket tracker form for their child’s ticket sales.   This is the only verification of how many tickets a player actually sells.

4.        Please do not remove staples from the ticket stubs.   If they come apart, re-staple or put a rubber band on them.

5.        IN CASE OF LOST TICKETS: The parent or guardian is responsible for all their tickets checked out to them and they will be expected to pay for any lost tickets.

6.        Please encourage parents to turn in money in the largest bill denomination possible.   For example, a twenty and a ten rather that 30 one dollar bills.

This year will we give away over $3,000.00 in prizes to the kids who have sold the most raffle tickets.   We award prizes to the top ticket sellers.   Our top five ticket sellers from previous years have sold over 400 tickets each. We will also award chamber bucks to the top selling teams, which will help at the end of the season with team parties!   An extra incentive to motivate ticket sales is that we reward the top selling team by having them take the field with the Five Points Bank Sr. Legion team during the Johnny Hopp Tournament for the starting line-up and after the National Anthem we have the top seller throw out the first pitch.

TURNING IN TICKET MONEY : Players must turn in all tickets and money to their coach by June 21.   Coaches please turn in your list of players with assigned tickets sold or unsold along with the money and ticket stubs by June 25.   Be sure to check ahead with your players about vacation schedules so you can get their ticket money before they leave.   All tickets need to be turned in to Dale Ossowski at assigned drop-off    locations.

ATTENTION COACHES!   ENCOURAGE YOUR PLAYERS TO INCREASE THEIR TICKET SALES!

We will be having a player/parent raffle ticket sales wrap up at Wal-Mart  on Saturday & Sunday, June 27 & 28.   We will furnish the tickets to sell those two days and all tickets sold by player or parent will go towards those players’ total sales for this season.   Call Dale Ossowski (469-4409) to set up a time.   Please set up your time as soon as possible as there can only be up to 8 people selling at one time.   Times should be for 2 hours only.   Talk to your players about selling during this weekend wrap up and how they are doing on ticket sales at your practices and games.

Raffle ticket winners will be drawn during the games on July 11 at Duncan Field at approximately 6:30 p.m.   Rain out date will be July 12.   Kids and team prizes will be awarded that evening.   Also at the double header any player who has sold at least 5 or more raffle tickets over the mandatory 30 will be eligible to win extra prizes.   Last year we gave out pizza and movie/game certificates.   Every time there is a hit from either team during both games, we will draw a name from all who qualified and announce the lucky winners.

WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO GET OUT THERE AND HAVE FUN WITH YOUR TEAMS THIS SUMMER

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND HARD WORK!!!
